Pizza Pi: Fractions Game

Pizza Pi is a fractions and money practice game for children roughly 6 to 12.
It was built for two of them, and it is free.

TEN GAMES
- Match: which slice is this fraction?
- Compare: which of these two is bigger?
- Add and Subtract: fractions with the pizzas drawn next to the numbers.
- Simplify: reduce a fraction to its lowest terms.
- Multiply: a fraction of a fraction, drawn as a slice of a slice.
- Delivery Dash: stop the scooter at the right house, on a street that is a
number line (3/4 is between 0 and 1).
- Cheque Please: read a bill, work out the change, count the coins.
- Weigh to Go: balance the dough scale to weigh out an order (0.5 kg + 0.25 kg).
- Pizza Rush: the same questions against a clock, for the children who want one.

HOW THE DIFFICULTY WORKS
Two separate ladders, because they answer different questions.
Most games have six difficulty levels; Delivery Dash has ten. Independent
answers move the difficulty up. In ordinary practice, one slip gets another
try, and repeated difficult orders can ease the next question. Clues explain
the idea, work through a step and then reveal the answer.
Chef rank runs 1 to 10 and never goes down. Answering harder questions earns
more rank progress. The Chef Card records independent and supported practice
for each game and difficulty level.

A RESTAURANT TO RUN
Earn stars to unlock games, and coins for outfits, decorations and restaurant
upgrades. Everything is earned by playing; no currency is sold.
Start with three guided Compare orders, or browse the games right away. An
optional five-order shift lets you choose a game and restaurant goal, then
shows the stars and coins you earned. You can also play without a shift.

FOR THE CLASSROOM AND THE KITCHEN TABLE
- Works with no signal. Every question, drawing and sound is inside the app.
- No account, no sign-up, no email address, no password.
- No advertising, no ad network and no third-party analytics.
- Nothing to buy, at any price, at any point.
- Up to six chefs on one device, so a family or a small group can share a tablet.
- Reads well on a phone, a tablet and a browser.

WHAT IT SENDS
Play statistics are on by default: an anonymous snapshot of scores tied to a
random id, so the leaderboards work and so play can be counted. An adult can turn
that off entirely.
Online chef is off by default in the app and can only be turned on by an adult
behind a PIN. It backs the chef up so it can be restored on a new device, and it
lists the chef on the leaderboards.
Names typed on the device are never sent. Online, every chef appears under an
alias the server makes up, like Basil-417, so the boards carry nothing a child
wrote and there is nobody to report or block.
The full field list, the retention periods and the erase route are on the privacy
page, linked from inside the game.
