User Reviews

Users praise the Firefox extension for a simple, quick interface that streamlines using Bulk Image Downloader (BID) from the browser, and for its reliability over years of use. Many say it does what it promises and offers good value, noting that, while BID is paid, the license is worth the investment and the extension supports multi-device use. However, the price is a recurring complaint, with several reviewers feeling the extension should be free or that payments are burdensome. A smaller set report reliability hiccups or site-specific issues, sometimes requiring updates or leading to inconsistent results.
Pros
  • Easy to use: a quick, streamlined interface between Firefox and Bulk Image Downloader.
  • Reliable performance and long-term usability: works well for years across various sites.
  • Good value for money: despite BID being paid, many users feel the investment is worth it and the extension adds value.
  • Does what it promises and handles the job across sites.
  • Multi-device registration support.
Cons
  • Not free: price and paid nature of the extension is a frequent complaint.
  • Reliability issues: some reviewers report that it doesn’t work or stops working for them.
  • Performance can vary by site and may require updates when sites change.
Recent reviews
I wanted to rate it 4 1/2 stars. BID performs it's stated task well and I have no specific gripes with the product and haven't found a suitable replacement (the best I've found for what it does). If the user's DL volume is high, it is well worth the relatively low annual cost (and, if you pay attention to the update 'end date', you can run the program in perpetuity-just with no further updates). I would assume many people might take issue with the companion program (took a while to talk myself into trusting it, but, have seen no ill effects after ~7 years of using it). Once installed, there is a bit of setup to perform based on usage that might throw off the casual user (settings/site login procedures, etc), but, it generally works 'one-click' once everything has been set. The reason for the 4-4 1/2 star rating is the lack of advanced instructions (which has gotten much better over the years) and it sometimes won't grab vids from some sites (which isn't a huge problem as it is Bulk IMAGE Downloader).
