Geocloud2 Mobile

Geocloud2 Mobile is the field application for the Geocloud platform. It allows authenticated users of a Geocloud client to view geospatial scenarios, navigate through their layers on the map, and edit the attributes of each record directly on their device.

Who it's for:
• Field users of Geocloud clients who need to consult and update geospatial data outside the office.

• Client administrators who want to validate scenario configurations directly on their device.

Requirements:
• Active account on a Geocloud client, provisioned by the administrator in the web panel.

• Internet connection to authenticate and load layer data.

• Active location (GPS), optional, to center the map on your position and help create points.

What you do:
• Open the scenario assigned to your account from the list.

• Navigate the map with pan and zoom gestures; when opened, only layers marked as active on the server load their data.

• The side drawer lists all layers of the scene with the actual style configured in Geocloud (symbol icon, polygon fill color, line stroke color) and the actual number of records per layer. Activates an inactive layer when needed: data is retrieved instantly and cached in the session.

• Taps a geometry on the map to open the record tab with the correct layer name and its editable attributes.

• Edits attributes in the dynamic form (text, number, date, boolean, list of values) and saves. There is no task queue or notification box: the entry point for any record is its geometry on the map.

• Creates points on layers that allow new geometries, using the central pin mode: GPS zooms in, the map moves under the pin, and you confirm the exact position.

• Attaches camera photos to the selected record, when the layer allows it.

Privacy and security
• Communication with the Geocloud API via HTTPS.

• Session token stored in the encrypted Android keystore.

• The data belongs to the client who contracted Geocloud and is stored on that client's server.

• The application does not change the configuration of active layers on the server; this remains the responsibility of the client's administrator in the web panel.

Permissions
• Location (foreground use only) — optional, for the "My Location" function and for creating points via central PIN.

• Camera — optional, activated only when you choose to attach a photo to a record.

Known Limitations
• Server-dependent application: without a connection, authentication and synchronization are not possible.

• Dedicated tablet support is not available in this version.

• Editing of geometries other than points (lines and areas) is not yet available.
