Block YouTube Shorts is a Chrome extension that blocks Shorts, live, and sponsored content to simplify your YouTube feed. No technical skills are required—the extension automatically hides Shorts on the homepage, subscriptions, and search results, and even removes the Shorts tab with a click.

One-tap controls let you block Shorts on specific pages (home, subscriptions, channels, search), hide the Shorts tab permanently, set a timeout to speed up pages, and quickly close Shorts sections in subscriptions. It also supports hiding Shorts in notifications and includes experimental options to hide live streams, upcoming videos, playables, and sponsored videos for an even cleaner YouTube experience.

By default, it tries to access your data on every website. So this youtube extension is running no matter what domain you're on. And it turns out, that breaks a lot of websites. If you don't want a headache, go into permissions and restrict it to only run on youtube.
