Doesn't appear to actually take specific YouTube audio and add to Spotify. What it seems to be doing instead is, when you have a YouTube video open and activate the extension, it searches Spotify for a close match and then asks you to add that matching song to your Spotify playlists. So it's not very useful if you are wanting to add audio that isn't already in Spotify, like a video of a live performance.
It works, but it's slow. It's also probably not the solution I need. Adding 1 song takes at least 4 clicks. While that's fine for the occasional adding of a single track, I'm wanting to transfer thousands of previously watched songs on YouTube to my Spotify account. This extension cannot import playlists in bulk, but at least it can see the song being played from the current playlist unlike a couple other websites I've tried so far that cannot even see these playlists.
The ability to set a default target playlist and skip the confirmation step via a setting would be nice and save 50%+ of the clicks. The ability to have Youfy auto add any "currently playing" track to my Spotify catalog would work great too. Then just let me clean up the errors on the Spotify website/app myself later. A timed or scheduled option on that would be excellent, meaning "auto save found music to Spotify playlist ____ for the next __ hours" or such. Might even add a "if video is played more than __ seconds."
The ability to scan my YT watch history for music would be nice too. Especially for my case since I tend to remove songs I didn't like so YT is less likely to recommend it again in an autogenerated playlist.
The app works, but some more functionality and customization would be helpful.
EDIT: I'm revising my review from 3 to 5 stars. I used the app for an hour or two, and it was both extremely helpful and time saving from copying, pasting, and searching myself. I could see knocking half a rating star off for missing what feel like some obvious features, but not 2 now. The app does just what the developers promised and only suggested incorrect tracks less than 2% of the time.
