What is Backdrop (Ambient)?

Backdrop (Ambient) is a simple and lightweight Chrome extension inspired by Backdrop (Ambient) on Chromecast. It allows you to customize your new tab with a new wallpaper every day, live weather for your location, and the option to choose between grayscale and colored weather icons. The extension is designed to be lightweight, storing only the current image on your device. It also includes a most visited sites feature. Weather and location data is provided by Here.com, and wallpapers are provided by Bing.com.

The design of the extension is inspired by Backdrop (now Ambient/Daydream) on the Google Chromecast.
