User Reviews

Users consistently praise BetterViewer’s zoom, rotate and in‑browser editing and call it a smooth, feature‑rich replacement for the built‑in viewer. Repeated complaints focus on recent updates that stopped it opening images by default, breakages in functionality (including the editor), and slow or absent developer fixes.
Pros
  • Powerful zoom and image tools (zoom, rotate, basic editing) praised by multiple users
  • Smooth, easy-to-use viewer that many say replaces or improves on the built‑in image viewer
  • Feature‑rich and reliable for desktop use—users repeatedly call it excellent or a 10/10
Cons
  • Recent updates removed its ability to open images by default (no longer the default viewer), which multiple users find disruptive
  • Reports of the extension or its editor not working recently—several users say it’s been broken for weeks/months
  • Perceived lack of developer responsiveness or timely updates to fix these issues
Recent reviews
Used to be a 5 / 5 extension, then after the v3 fiasco with Chrome, got updated for parity with the Chrome Exctension. It lost essentially all that made it worth using, just for it to be useless the same way in two browsers now. Also appears to be entirely abandoned by the developer. A real pity, it used to be an extension that I considered worth it to be included natively in Firefox

Doesn't work anymore since the update, so I'm changing my rating.
