BetterFeed replaces YouTube's algorithmic, infinite homepage with a small, static home page that only changes when YOU decide. You see the same set of videos until your scheduled refresh — so you can still discover new videos, without the bottomless scroll designed to keep you watching.

HOW IT WORKS

Pick a refresh schedule — weekly, certain days of the week, or daily. At refresh time, BetterFeed quietly fetches a fresh set of recommendations and pins them as your new home page. Until the next refresh, your home page never changes: no infinite feed, no rabbit holes, no "just one more scroll."

THREE MODES

• Watch — your static home page, with your daily limit enforced. • Work — search-only YouTube. Every grid, recommendation, and sidebar distraction is hidden so you can look something up and get out. • Listen — coming soon: a music mode with no daily limit.

DAILY WATCH LIMIT

Cap your watching by number of videos, total watch time, or both. When you hit the limit, BetterFeed shows a "see you tomorrow" screen — with the option to grab a few more minutes or finish the video you're on. Your progress syncs across devices, so the limit can't be dodged by switching computers.

FRICTION WHERE IT HELPS

• Work session lock — commit to a work session; bailing out early means typing a long unlock code. The friction is the feature. • Watching lock — once you've started watching for the day, the refresh and daily-limit settings lock behind the same challenge, so you can't impulsively raise your limit mid-binge.

DISTRACTION CLEANUP

Hide Shorts, watch-page recommendations, end-screen cards, autoplay, live chat, the side panel, comments, the notification bell, mix/radio playlists, Explore/Trending, voice search, the Create button, and more — each one a simple toggle.
