Beta Watch: Parental Monitoring and Control Firefox

Beta Watch: Parental Monitoring and Control

Parental software that monitors and controls your child's web activity. Blocks and logs websites based on websocket communication. This extension is part of Team Beta's project for CS 4310, Software Engineering I with professor Hank Stalica.

Features & Capabilities

This addon connects to a websocket and requests the blacklist, whitelist, and security level every 15 seconds. Websites specified in the blacklist are always blocked. The addon also saves the blacklist after the browser is closed, so if it fails to connect to the websocket the last known blacklist is enforced.

Depending on the security level, websites specified on the whitelist are logged and/or blocked.
