User reviews

New Tabs at End 3000 is highly appreciated for its simple function of placing new tabs at the end, significantly improving tab management, especially for heavy tab users. However, several users report recent inconsistent performance, with tabs opening in unintended positions, especially after Chrome updates or when using tab groups. Some issues include failure on specific sites and the extension ceasing to work after extended use. Despite issues, users remain hopeful as the extension is valued and occasional workarounds exist, underlining the need for such a feature in Chrome natively.
Pros
  • Effectively moves new tabs to the end of the tab bar, improving tab management.
  • Highly valued by long-term users who manage many tabs regularly.
  • Simple yet essential functionality that's not natively provided by Chrome.
  • Workaround available for occasional issues by toggling the extension off and on.
  • Receives appreciation and gratitude from users for the updates and functionality.
Cons
  • Recently inconsistent behavior where new tabs sometimes open next to the active tab instead of at the end.
  • Does not work well with tab groups—new tabs open outside of the group or at unintended positions.
  • Stops working properly after some time or following certain Chrome updates, requiring reinstallation or toggling.
  • Fails to work on certain websites like Facebook and Twitter as reported by some users.
  • Lack of a built-in Chrome setting forces reliance on this extension, causing frustration when issues arise.

As of the latest version (3.0.0.3), this plugin no longer works as it should. It's 50/50 odds if a tab opens at the end of the tabs or next to the active tab.

this used to be one of my favorite extensions. Now it randomly opens tabs at the end when it feels like it.
