en | Right. How about I give you a good old PEE paragraph of How LanSchool Air monitors your laptop and a paragraph each on the positives and negatives. (P.S: I'm bored rn so I might as well do this.) Also, thanks to Mike for this point but it is outlined as a spyware in the privacy Policy and also says its for use of minors under 12 ONLY. Ily mike :). Wait, what... Anyways, a brief general description first and the P.E.E paragraph I talked about is underneath. It's a really cool extension. It ruins my privacy and Spies on over 1m students so save yourself. I also hate this extension so all of this stuff about how I 'love' it is a joke for all the 2 year olds. Lets make some brief notes before we start: We will start with out Point - Our Point in this could be that LanSchool air allows teachers to monitor your laptop screen within your spare time conveying a total invasion of privacy. What about our evidence you might say - Well the evidence is probably in its code but just have a look around on your laptop and you'll find something that shows they are monitoring you eventually. And finally, The explain. - For the explain, I will write about some of the other things that LanSchool air has to offer. Lets Begin! (I'm not excited to do this. Paragraph 1, the benefits of LanSchool Air (for students) Alrighty, there literally are none. How about the next paragraph. Paragraph 2, the negatives of LanSchool Air (for students) One of the many negatives of LanSchool Air is that it allows teachers to monitor a students laptop without their permission and at any given moment. This works on all sorts of devices whether it be a school provided device or one that is personal to it's given owner. Above this, LanSchool Air removes that thought of trust from people and safety as me, when I message my parents does sometimes feel that I might be having my privacy stalked upon by a teacher. One way you can tell that LanSchool air is monitoring your laptop is by opening it up using the arrow in the bottom right corner of your screen, then right clicking the icon and tapping messages. One of two options will appear. If it says, 'You are not in a class, Use this computer Wisely!', that means that your privacy is not being ruined at that moment. On the other hand, if it says something else like your In '.....' class, then your privacy has been discarded of with little care. This ruins a students trust and feel of safety in school as they can not voice their concerns or feelings privately to other people without someone being able to see. I am probably being watched right now so I'll stop but enjoy this 'lovely' extension!!!!! This is all a joke and I'm pretty sure everyone hates it and as a student, I do. Alright. Bye bye |

Not only is it specifically outlined IN THE PRIVACY POLICY "LanSchool Air may only be used with minors aged 12 and under by schools (as described in this privacy statement)." Not only is it on the website that the software cannot be accessed after school hours, that is a blatant lie, as outlined by the other reviews on this extension. This should legitimately be illegal nationally, as it is in the EU and several us states. My teachers can see my passwords and where i live?! if someone hacks it I can be endangered. Teachers if you make your kids have this extension they will hate you forever, I'm not kidding. There is SO many other ways to monitor your students like make them turn their computers around facing the teacher etc. This is not okay nor it will never be. LanSchool what is wrong with you mentally? And i get it it can be annoying when your students don't pay attention but this is literally a SPYING device!!! I hope you get sued LanSchool, And I don't hope anything bad to anyone ever! But it is so so so concerning for students and for their safety! Not okay. And whoever does think this is okay please go get checked. Your students will hate you 100%. AGAIN let's say your student is playing games etc send them to office or make them turn their screen facing you, or you sitting behind them, or even looking over their shoulder. My school even had to call their lawyer to ask if its okay to install. Like please. that sounds like theres issues with the extension, and even if it is not illegal it is so so easy to get private info about the student, not only but theres creeps out there and i'm just saying it may be your teacher lol. Please for heaven sakes DO NOT get this for your classroom, please. I'm not even joking they will want to move schools because of you. And if you don't care ab this message fine. Just know none of your students probably won't like you after this 😐 |
