AutoPause

AutoPause is a Chrome extension designed to improve your browsing focus by automatically pausing audio and video playing in background tabs or sources. It prevents overlapping media sounds by pausing other media whenever audio plays on the active tab, with options to automatically resume playback when appropriate. The extension features customizable controls including fast forward, pause on tab change, and pause when your device locks.

With optional permissions, you control which websites it affects, and it also offers a no-permission mode to ensure privacy. AutoPause supports disabling automatic resume or limiting resume to designated tabs, enhancing user control and efficiency. The extension's code is open-source under the MIT license, available on GitHub for transparency and community collaboration.
