Authenticator Firefox

Authenticator

Authenticator generates two-factor authentication codes in your browser.

Features & Capabilities

Authenticator generates two-factor authentication (2FA) codes (TOTP, HOTP, Steam Guard, Blizzard) directly in your browser to add an extra layer of security to your online accounts. Add accounts by scanning QR codes, search quickly with "/", encrypt secrets with a password, and back up to a file or cloud storage (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox). You can also sync with your Google Account or import data from the Google Authenticator mobile app.

Open source and translated into 10+ languages, Authenticator keeps you in control of your secrets while making 2FA easy and accessible. Always keep a backup of your secrets and consider encrypting them—especially when using shared or cloud-linked accounts.

Пользуюсь этим расширением уже несколько месяцев — очень удобно хранить все двухфакторные коды в одном месте. Надёжно и избавило от необходимости постоянно искать телефон. Рекомендую всем, кто заботится о безопасности аккаунтов.

Is Authenticator Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Authenticator requires a lot of sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

Authenticator may not be trust-worthy. Avoid installing if possible unless you really trust this publisher.
