Virtual Surgery School

The West Metro Health Service Partnership is a partnership between six hospitals to enable collaborative reform. Together, we are implementing Enhanced Recovery After Surgery plus Prehabilitation (ERAS+) at the Royal Women’s Hospital, Western Health, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and Royal Melbourne Hospital.
The purpose of this application is to deliver you a Virtual Surgery School. Surgery School is a new concept that involves delivering educational materials through videos and brochures to help you prepare for your upcoming surgery.
Topics will not only cover what to expect with your upcoming surgery but advice and support on what you can do to prepare yourself for your upcoming surgery. It will cover your physical, emotional, nutritional, and general health.
The Surgery School content has been developed by your local healthcare team in collaboration with the expertise across the West Metro Health Service Partnership.
This application will allow you to watch the Surgery School content in your own time with your family, friends, or support team.
The video content has been translated into Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Arabic and Greek.
This application will allow the health services to send you questionnaires on your current health and well-being, these questionnaires help us understand your experience undertaking Surgery School and Prehabilitation, and its impact on your health and well-being.
