Hitze-/Kälte App

The Hitze-/Kälte App offers construction workers in Austria direct, real-time temperature data needed for qualifying bad weather support through BUAK (the Construction Workers' Holiday and Severance Pay Fund). Starting August 1, 2024, this app provides legally relevant temperature queries by postal code, sourced from Geosphere Austria, ensuring compliance with the Construction Workers' Bad Weather Compensation Act (BSchEG).

With this tool, there's no longer any confusion about whether the critical temperature of 32.5°C was met on-site to halt work and apply for compensation. Beyond just temperature monitoring, the app also educates users on necessary precautions for working under high-heat conditions to safeguard health and safety. Convenient and reliable, this extension empowers Austrian construction professionals with the vital weather information needed for effective worksite management and legal compliance.
