The Association of Brazilian Information Technology Companies (ASSESPRO) is the oldest, most representative and widespread representative of the sector, especially small and medium-sized companies. Founded in 1976, it is a non-profit entity, created with the aim of representing, in a distinct and entrepreneurial way, national private companies that produce and develop software, information technology, telecommunications and internet products and services. Over these four decades, the entity has defended the interests of national companies and the national information technology industry.

Today, with more than 2,500 associated companies at national level and with almost 300 companies based in the state of Rio de Janeiro, ASSESPRO plays a leading role in the sector with municipal, state and federal governments, with society, and with institutions of teaching, aiming to integrate the different ecosystems and contribute to the expansion of maturity of associated companies and training of qualified personnel for market demands.

In recent years, ASSESPRO has stood out in the debate on the main topics of interest to the information technology and innovation sector with various governmental and institutional authorities, participating in numerous conferences, public hearings, seminars, work meetings and other activities aimed at contributing to improve public policies and incentives for the technology segment, one of the most productive in the Brazilian economy.
