This system, whose electronic circuit has a small board, is composed of a microprocessor module, a wireless communication module (Bluetooth technology), two LEDs capable of emitting multicolored light and an application (developed on the educational platform MIT App Inventor ) running on a smartphone.
Its purpose is to match the color of the LEDs, whose precision will depend on the level of difficulty, according to the movement of the smartphone in space.
The spatial position sensor contained in a smartphone, known as an accelerometer, is capable of measuring the action of the acceleration of the force of gravity in the three dimensional axes (X, Y, Z) by which all bodies are immersed. These axes can be compared to the length, width and depth of an object, such as a box.
The action of the force of gravity applied on the accelerometer will be measured mathematically in the three axes through the application, and transmitted continuously, via Bluetooth wireless communication, to the microprocessor electronic circuit that will convert the values ​​obtained into variations of electric current intensity responsible by color formation.
The LEDs used are of the RGB type (Red, Green, Blue) with three “filaments” composed of the basic colors red, green and blue. The RGB “filaments” correspond respectively to the XYZ axes of the spatial sensor and when they receive variations in the intensity of electric current, which can oscillate numerically from 0 to 255, they will produce combinations of up to 16,777,216 colors (this value is equivalent to 256 to the third potency). The number of color combinations will depend on the accuracy level of the smartphone's built-in accelerometer.
The dynamics initially consists of defining a reference color, according to the position of the smartphone established in space. This action will be performed by one participant (challenger) and cannot be seen by the other participant (challenge) who must try to find this position, through their visual perception, when trying to match the color of their LED with the color of the reference LED .
The combination of colors will depend on the equivalence of the numerical values ​​established for the axes and may have a margin of error depending on the level of difficulty.
