Klave — Markdown Editor

Klave is a fast, focused markdown editor that works directly with the folder you already use. No proprietary database, no lock-in, no sign-up. Pick any folder on your device or connect a Dropbox account, and Klave reads and writes plain .md files — the same files you can open in any other editor on any platform.

Pick any folder via the system file picker — no permission theatre, no copying your files into app-private storage. Or connect a Dropbox account to keep your notes synced across devices. Switch between multiple vaults from the drawer to keep work, personal, and project notes separate.

The source view renders headings, bold, italic, code, and links inline as you type. No clunky "rich text" surprises, no separate preview to toggle. Tap the Preview tab when you want to see the fully-rendered HTML.

Use [[double-bracket]] syntax to link between notes in your vault. Tap a wikilink in Preview mode to navigate.

Full-text search across every note in the active vault — find passages by what they say, not just by filename.

A Recent drawer entry for files you opened lately, and a Starred section for notes you want one tap away. Pin or star any file from the editor's overflow menu.

▪ Per-Document Font Size
Set a comfortable default in Settings, then nudge the size up or down for a single document with the in-editor stepper. Long-press the size chip to reset to your default.

▪ 76 Languages
Klave's interface ships in 76 languages, so the app speaks your language even if your notes don't.

【 Privacy & Trust 】

▪ Your notes are your files.
Klave never copies your notes into an app-private database. They live in the folder you picked. Uninstall Klave and your files stay exactly where they were.

▪ What we collect.
Note contents, filenames and folder paths never reach our servers. What does: anonymous crash reports (Crashlytics), usage analytics — opens, screen views, session length (Firebase Analytics), and read-only feature flags (Remote Config). Ads come from Google AdMob. None of it carries what you wrote.

▪ Dropbox is optional.
If you connect Dropbox, the OAuth token is stored encrypted on your device, and Klave only touches the folder you authorized. Disconnect any time from Settings.

▪ Minimal permissions.
Internet, Network State, and Microphone — the mic only for voice dictation, only when you start it. Klave never records audio to a file; your device's speech recognizer transcribes it. No location, no camera, no contacts.
