Step Counter: Walking Tracker

Step Counter is a free pedometer and walking app that counts every step, even with the screen off. No account, no sign-up: your steps stay on your phone, and the step counter works offline. Set a daily goal, keep your streak and try voice-guided plans if you're walking for weight loss.

STEP COUNTER THAT KEEPS COUNTING
• This pedometer counts with Google's Recording API and your phone's step sensor, built to go easy on the battery
• Steps from Galaxy Watch, Fitbit and other apps come in through Health Connect, with your last 30 days of history
• Phone and watch are never added together: each hour keeps the higher of the two, so your total isn't doubled
• "Why no steps?" checks your phone in one tap and shows the fix when a battery saver stops counting
• Pause counting for car or bus rides, and edit any past day (edited days are marked)

STEP TRACKER FOR YOUR DAILY GOAL
• A clear ring for today's steps, distance, calories and active minutes, plus the minutes of walking left to reach your goal
• Change your goal any time: 7,000 steps a day is a great start, and 10000 steps works too
• Your week at a glance, and history by day, week and month with hourly bars
• Km or miles, light or dark theme, 20 languages

STREAKS, BADGES AND CHALLENGES
• Missed a day? A streak freeze saves your streak. You earn one for every 7-day streak
• 29 badges for streaks, big days, total steps, distance and habits
• 5 challenges: 7 days of 7,000 steps, 5 days of 10,000, 50 km in 30 days, beat last week by 10%, and a 30-day streak
• Virtual journeys: walk Hadrian's Wall Path with your daily steps and see every stop you pass

WALKING APP FOR WEIGHT LOSS
• Walk tracker for outdoor walks: live steps, time, pace, distance and your route
• Indoor walks for the treadmill, the walking pad or at home
• Spoken cues at every km or mile, using your phone's voice
• 10 voice-guided walking plans. 3 are free: Brisk 10, Interval walk 15 and Indoor walk 15
• With Premium: Interval walking 30 (the "Japanese walking" method), Indoor walk 30, an after-meal walk, a 2-week beginner plan, a 4-week plan to lose weight, 4 weeks of heart-friendly walking and a weekend long walk
• Your step length calibrates itself on GPS walks for a more accurate distance
• Share your walk summary, and log your weight with BMI if you want to

WIDGETS AND REMINDERS
• 2 home-screen widgets: a steps ring and a wide bar with distance and streak
• An optional steps notification
• Gentle reminders: walk nudge, "almost there", streak at risk, goal reached and a weekly report. Never more than 2 nudges a day, nothing between 10 pm and 7 am

YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
• No account and no cloud: steps, walks, routes and weight are stored on your device
• Location is used only during a walk you start
• "Delete all my data" erases everything in one tap

FREE, WITH PREMIUM IF YOU WANT MORE
Step counting, history, streaks, badges and widgets are free. The free version shows ads, but never when the app starts or during a walk. Premium adds every walking plan, the year view, a cadence metronome, a PDF report, a free streak freeze every week, all journeys and no ads. Prefer one payment? There is a lifetime option and a one-time "Remove ads". You can also watch an ad for a streak freeze, or to try all plans for 24 hours.

QUESTIONS
Does the step counter work offline? Yes. Counting, history and walks work without internet.
Does it count with the screen off? Yes, and with the app closed.
Does the pedometer drain the battery? It uses Android's low-power step counting. If your phone stops apps to save battery, "Why no steps?" shows the setting to change.
Does it work with my watch? Yes, through Health Connect (Galaxy Watch, Fitbit, Pixel Watch and other apps that share steps).
Do I need an account? No.

Step Counter is not a medical device. Steps, distance and calories are estimates. Check with your doctor before starting a new exercise plan.
