EggSPEED

EggSPEED is the Android app for reading and configuring UART-version Bafang BBS01, BBS02 and BBSHD mid-drive controllers, on factory OEM Bafang firmware or on BBS-FW (the open-source firmware from danielnilsson9/bbs-fw). Connect straight from your phone over a simple USB-OTG cable or Bluetooth module. No PC, no extra software.

DUAL FIRMWARE SUPPORT
Switch between OEM and BBS-FW in Settings. Both configuration protocols are supported natively, with screens matching BBS-FW's official configuration tool.

LIVE COCKPIT
Speed, power, current, voltage, distance, trip, average speed, Wh/km and estimated range, updated live while you ride. An optional GPS speed overlay shows your phone's GPS reading next to the controller's. Info icons explain how key values are calculated.

LIVE MONITORING
Power, current, voltage and speed plotted over time, each chart toggleable, with one shared time window: 2, 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes.

TRIP HISTORY
Every trip you reset is saved with distance, time, speed, energy, power, battery and range. Delete any trip at any time. Optionally start a new trip automatically on connect or after a break in riding.

STREET/RACE (OEM BAFANG)
Two independent sets of 10 assist levels, STREET and RACE, switched from the Cockpit. The app reprograms the controller when you switch.

NORMAL/SPORT (BBS-FW)
Two independent sets of 10 assist levels, Normal and Sport, switched from the Cockpit. Nothing is reprogrammed when you switch.

BATTERY SAG MEASUREMENT
Estimated SAG is calculated continuously from your normal riding. A guided test (rest, full load, rest) gives a controlled reading and rates your battery quality.

PROTECT ANTI-CONTROL MODE
One tap locks assist to 0 while the Cockpit keeps responding to +/- taps, so it looks unchanged at a glance. Unlock it from the PROTECT tab. You can optionally set a PIN to restrict access to that tab.

BLUETOOTH REMOTE BUTTONS
Map Vol+ and Vol- on a Bluetooth media remote to assist level, light, PROTECT or STREET/RACE. Play/Pause, Next and Previous cannot be mapped.

FULL CONTROLLER CONFIGURATION
Read and write every parameter: on OEM, Basic, Pedal Assist (PAS) and Throttle; on BBS-FW, the full System and Assist Levels configuration.

ASSIST LEVELS, VISUALIZED
Speed and current limits for every assist level, plus power and speed distribution charts across the whole range.

BATTERY-AWARE RANGE
Enter your cell count and capacity once. The range estimate blends your riding history with your current style.

TEMPERATURE MONITORING (BBS-FW)
A live controller-temperature tile on the Cockpit, with warning and alarm thresholds (colour, blink and sound).

DISPLAY
Dark and Light themes, plus High Contrast for full-sun readability. Optionally show speed, power and assist on your lock screen.

CALIBRATION
Correct current, voltage or speed readings (shunt mod, slightly-off wheel size) in the app, without changing anything on the controller.

FULL DIAGNOSTICS
"All in View" lists every parameter the controller reports, plus a register-level scan.

PROFILES
Save your setup as a named profile, export it to a file, or import one back. Profiles are firmware-aware: an OEM profile cannot be loaded onto BBS-FW, or vice versa.

SAFE BY DESIGN
Every parameter write needs your explicit confirmation, with a full preview. Nothing is written silently.

LANGUAGES
17 languages: Polish, English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Czech, Slovak, Danish, Russian, Norwegian, Estonian, Latvian, Japanese.

PRIVACY
No internet permission at all. The app talks to your controller only over the wired USB cable. No account, no analytics, no tracking, nothing leaves your phone. Privacy Policy and Terms are in the About screen.

REQUIREMENTS
Android 8.0 or later, a phone with USB Host (OTG) support, a UART-version Bafang BBS01/BBS02/BBSHD controller and a Bafang UART programming cable.
