Compass is a precise, beautifully designed compass and inclinometer built for hikers, campers, surveyors, and anyone who needs reliable direction and tilt readings.
REAL-TIME COMPASS - A smooth, animated compass dial rotates in real time as you move. Cardinal and intercardinal labels, degree markings every 30 degrees, and fine tick marks every 2 degrees give you a clear heading at a glance.
TRUE NORTH & ALTITUDE - Enable True North with a single tap. The app uses on-device magnetic declination calculations so you get accurate geographic north without needing an internet connection. Grant precise location to see your altitude in both meters and feet — perfect for hiking and outdoor navigation. Location is only used when you choose to enable it.
SUN TRACKER - See where the sun is right now, plus sunrise and sunset directions, marked directly on the compass dial. Great for planning photos, setting up camp, or orienting solar panels. All calculations happen on your device using built-in astronomical formulas.
SPIRIT LEVEL - Switch to the Level tab for a full inclinometer. A responsive bubble indicator shows pitch and roll in degrees along with slope percentage. The bubble turns green when the surface is level, giving you instant visual confirmation.
SENSOR CALIBRATION - When magnetometer accuracy drops, an animated figure-8 calibration guide appears automatically. A live accuracy indicator shows you the current sensor quality in real time so you know when readings are reliable.
HAPTIC FEEDBACK - Feel a subtle vibration every 30 degrees of rotation for eyes-free navigation. Useful when you need to keep your eyes on the trail, not the screen.

PRIVACY - Your privacy matters. All compass, sun, and level calculations happen entirely on your device. Approximate location is used for magnetic declination and sun tracking. Precise location is optionally used for altitude — only when you grant permission. Your location data is never shared.
