ScreenMetric: Movie Ratings

Great acting can rescue a weak script. A beautiful film can fall apart in the edit. One rating number won't tell you which. ScreenMetric gives you up to ten.

The ten categories are: Plot / Narrative, Dialogue, Acting / Performance, Direction, Cinematography, Production Design, Editing / Pacing, Musical Score, Sound Design, and Impact / Entertainment. Five of them name the people responsible, so you know whose work you are scoring: the director, cinematographer, production designer, editor, and composer. Every category is optional. Rate the ones you have an opinion about and leave the rest blank. Collapse the categories you never score and that layout carries over to every film and syncs across your devices.

Films come from TMDb. New releases, foreign cinema, documentaries, and the straight-to-video oddity you assumed nobody else had seen.

JUDGE BEFORE YOU'RE SWAYED
The community average for a category stays hidden until you have scored it yourself. You form your own opinion first, then see where you landed.

BROWSE BY SCORE
Trending and popular lists come from TMDb, and each row shows its community rating. Switch Top Rated to ScreenMetric and films rank by our users' category scores instead. Hidden Gems narrows that to older, lesser-known films our users score highly. All three filter by genre and decade.

YOUR STATS
The Stats tab shows what your ratings add up to: score distribution, averages by category and by decade, most-rated genres, and your best and worst films. It ranks the directors, actors, cinematographers, and composers you score highest too, with the top three of each free.

YOUR TASTE, IN NUMBERS (PRO)
Once you have rated enough films, the Taste tab works out which crafts drive your enjoyment. Pro also adds to Stats: how your scoring has shifted over time, which films you re-rated and by how much, and the top ten in each people ranking rather than the top three.

SEE WHERE IT STREAMS
Set your region and tick the services you pay for. Every film then shows where you can watch it.

WATCHLIST ALERTS (PRO)
Add a film to your watchlist and get a notification when it's available on a service you already subscribe to.

WRITE AND READ REVIEWS
Publish a written review under a public username, read what other people thought of the same film, and like the ones you found useful. Your individual category scores stay private.

Import your IMDb ratings export to get started. The first 100 films are free. Pro removes that limit and adds CSV and JSON export.
