Short-video feeds are engineered to keep you scrolling. Basta! is an accessibility tool built for people with ADHD, anxiety or self-control difficulties around addictive short-form video.

The moment you open Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts or the TikTok feed, Basta! detects it and pulls you straight back out. Nothing to uninstall. Nothing lost from the parts of those apps you actually want.

HOW IT WORKS
Basta! uses Android's accessibility service to recognise the specific short-video viewer on screen and press Back for you. It takes under a second. It needs no internet connection, it never reads your messages or your photos, and it collects no data at all.

It does not block Instagram, YouTube or TikTok as a whole. Your normal feed, messages, search and full-length videos all keep working — only the part designed to trap you disappears. And if you would rather cut it off completely, there is an option to block the whole app.

The accessibility service does one thing: recognise the short-video section and trigger the system Back action. It does not read the content of messages, posts, images or any personal information.

WHY IT NEEDS THE ACCESSIBILITY PERMISSION
It is the only Android API that reveals which screen of another app is currently visible. Without it there is no way to tell "I am in the Reels viewer" from "I am in the normal feed", and therefore no way to pull you out of the first one only. Basta! is formally declared as an accessibility tool and uses the permission for a single, visible, clearly explained purpose.

AFTER INSTALLING
Turn on the service in Settings and exempt the app from battery optimisation — the app takes you to both screens. On Xiaomi, Samsung or Huawei phones, also enable autostart so the system does not kill it in the background.
