ParenThing: Co-Parenting App

ParenThing is the calm co-parenting app built in Ireland, now available in Canada for separated and divorced parents. Keep messages, parenting time, shared costs and important documents in one shared, private place, so co-parenting is less stressful for you and more stable for your children.

Free to start for both parents, with one Premium plan (C$20.99 a month, or C$209.99 a year) that covers the whole family. Your data is hosted in the EU, never sold and never used for ads.

WHY PARENTS CHOOSE PARENTHING

One plan covers both parents, with no per-parent charges
Built in Ireland for parents who want a calmer, fairer app than the US incumbents
Your data is protected to the GDPR standard, and we apply PIPEDA to how we handle it
No ads, and we never sell your data

Looking for an OurFamilyWizard or TalkingParents alternative that does not charge each parent separately? ParenThing covers both parents on one plan and is free to start.

MESSAGES THAT STAY CALM Message your co-parent with a clear, timestamped record. Optional AI tone-checking helps a message land the way you meant it and flags hostile language before it is sent, so conversations stay child-focused. Children only see conversations a parent has explicitly invited them into.

SORT PARENTING TIME One shared family calendar for parenting time, handovers, school events and activities. Add events, set locations and mark which family members each event applies to. Children see only their own schedule.

KEEP CHILD SUPPORT AND SHARED COSTS ON THE RECORD Log shared expenses and child support contributions in Canadian dollars, request and approve payments, and keep things fair and on the record.

A CLEAR RECORD IF YOU EVER NEED ONE Every message and payment is timestamped. If you work with a mediator or family lawyer, you can connect them to your family free of charge, and they can prepare a verifiable record for mediation or court. Our parenting plan templates are written for Ireland and the UK; the record itself works the same in Canada. ParenThing is a communication and organisation tool, not a substitute for legal advice, and whether any record is used is always a decision for the court.

CHILD WELLBEING CHECK-INS (OPTIONAL, OFF BY DEFAULT) If you choose to turn it on, children can check in with how they are feeling using a simple, friendly mood selector, and parents can see a private wellbeing summary. It is opt-in, off by default, and designed with children's privacy in mind.

DOCUMENTS, TASKS AND PACKING LISTS Keep school, medical and legal documents together, share tasks, and use packing lists so nothing gets left behind between two homes.

A PRIVATE JOURNAL Every child gets their own private space to note how their day went.

FOR MEDIATORS, FAMILY LAWYERS AND FAMILY SUPPORT WORKERS Verified professionals use ParenThing free, with scoped, consent-based access and clear reports included.
