Nearbyers is a social app for the people physically near you — the coffee shop, the campus, the conference, the block party. No feeds from strangers half a world away. No follower counts. Just whoever is actually here.

HOW IT WORKS

• Make a card — a small profile you design yourself: a name, a line about what you're up to, what you're open to (a chat, a coffee, a co-founder). • Go visible — your card is broadcast over Bluetooth to other Nearbyers users around you, and theirs appear on your screen. • Say hi — chat directly, device to device. When you walk away, you're gone. • BONUS: Ask an event host to get every participant to get the app

NO ACCOUNTS. NO SERVERS. REALLY.

Nearbyers has no sign-up and no backend. Your card, your chats, and your settings live only on your phone. Messages travel directly between devices over Bluetooth and local radio — they are never uploaded anywhere, because there is nowhere to upload them to. Uninstall the app and every trace of it is gone.

BUILT FOR REAL PLACES

Nearbyers works where people actually gather — including places with bad or no internet. The mesh keeps working on the subway, in a basement venue, at a festival campsite. If someone is within radio range, you can see them and talk to them.

SAFETY

You control your visibility with one switch. Block anyone instantly — your device simply stops listening to theirs. Reports go straight to a human (us), and the moderation contact is listed inside the app.
