Measure Twice: Material Calc

Work out how much you need before you go to the store, not after.

Measure Twice turns a couple of measurements into the quantity you actually buy: bags, sheets,
boxes, tiles, boards, cubic yards. Every result comes with a shopping list you can tick off at the
yard, and an estimated cost you can correct to your own supplier's prices.

TEN CALCULATORS
• Paint — wall area and coats, in gallons or quarts
• Drywall — 4x8 or 4x12 sheets, plus compound, tape and screws
• Flooring — boxes from your room size and the coverage on the box
• Tile — tile count by size, plus thinset and grout
• Concrete — 80 lb bags or ready-mix, with the 1 cubic yard minimum
• Mulch — bagged or bulk, and how far you are from free delivery
• Sod — pieces and pallets from your lawn size
• Insulation — bags by R-value
• Deck boards — boards and linear feet, allowing for the gaps
• Gravel — cubic yards, tons and bags

BUILT FOR THE REAL JOB
• Feet, inches or yards on any measurement, mixed freely
• A waste factor you control, from 0 to 25 percent
• A live diagram that shows the area you typed, so a slipped decimal is obvious
• Every coverage assumption printed next to the number it produced
• Prices you can edit, so estimates match your supplier and not an average

SAVE AND SHARE
Save an estimate to Projects and it keeps your dimensions, quantities and prices. Reopen it later
and it recalculates at today's prices. Export the shopping list as text to a message, an email or
a note.

Estimates are guidance, not a quote. Coverage figures follow common trade practice — confirm
quantities with your supplier before ordering.
