User Reviews

HAMRS Logger is praised for its simplicity, specialized templates, QRZ lookup, and easy ADIF export, making it popular for POTA and SOTA logging. However, users frequently encounter app freezes with large logs, inability to edit QSOs, and severe stability problems resulting in lost logs. The lack of cloud synchronization limits multi-device use, and some map features are seen as incomplete. While well-liked overall, reliability and data management remain key concerns among users.
Pros
  • Easy to use with a clean and simple interface ideal for POTA and SOTA logging.
  • Supports offline logging with templates tailored for various amateur radio activities.
  • Automatic QRZ callsign lookup assists in verifying contact information.
  • Allows easy export of ADIF files for submitting logs.
  • Includes a map feature to display logged contacts visually.
Cons
  • App can freeze or lag when logging high numbers (150-200+) of contacts.
  • Lack of ability to edit QSO entries after saving causes frustration.
  • Stability issues leading to loss of all logs and profile data reported multiple times.
  • No data synchronization or cloud backup, making multi-device use difficult and risking data loss.
  • Some features like map integration with QRZ and QSO markers are incomplete or confusing.

Update: 1.5 yrs later, still LOVE IT! I have been using this app for POTA about 6 months now. Primarily on my Samsung Note 20 (Android). The screen is big enough so I don't get the bugs that others have complained about on smaller phones. I was using the windows version on my toughbook laptop, but the logs and the info don't sync to both devices. Otherwise I love all the features and the export is so easy to send my logs to pota online. Hope it still gets support and updates. It's a great app.

This app has made POTA activations more enjoyable. I run the app on a Samsung tablet, using my phone as a Hotspot. I am late to the game in using the Spots feature but it has 3 great advantages over my previous practice of running a browser window showing the POTA app. First, I don't have to switch apps. Secondly, the copy function makes logging multiple ops easy when before it was stressful. And thirdly, it shows me which activations I've already contacted.
