No ads, no server. A private diary where "I rested" counts as a day too.

Footprint Diary is a quiet place to write down your days one line at a time, and to plan the ones still ahead.

Some days you will fill the page. Other days you will write nothing more than "rested." Either one is worth keeping.

WRITE YOUR DAY

• Tap a date on the calendar and start writing right there.

• Had a day that needs more than one line? The journal space is there for the longer story.

• Add a sticker for how the day felt, and edit the emoji list to whatever suits you.

PLAN AHEAD, WITHOUT THE WEIGHT

• Tap a day that has not arrived yet and leave a plan there.

• When that day comes, the app asks how it went. Finish it, keep going, move it to tomorrow, or let it go. None of those answers is the wrong one.

• Trips, moving week, exam season. A plan can stretch across several days, and the calendar tints them in a soft color.

FOLLOW THE THREAD, WITHOUT THE PRESSURE

• Anything that takes longer than a day can become a Project. Projects carry a status, including "set aside for now," because pausing something is not failing at it.

• Add goals for the month and tick them off one at a time. In a month when you would rather not decide anything, choose "taking it easy this month" and skip them entirely.

• Days that come around again fit here too: birthdays, anniversaries, rent day, the swim you do every week. Yearly, monthly, weekly, or just the once.

LOOK BACK ON THE DAYS BEHIND YOU

• Four small numbers: days written, your busiest day, projects in motion, and days in a row.

• A short recap of last month when the month turns, and a look back over the whole year each December.

• Search everything you have written, across your days, journals, plans, and the days that come around.

YOUR RECORDS BELONG TO YOU ALONE

• There is no server of ours and no developer-run database holding what you write, which is also why you never need an account. No ads, and no tracking.

• Unless you turn backup on yourself, everything stays on your device.

• You can back up to Google Drive if you want to. The backup lives in a private, app-only folder inside your own Google Drive. Nothing you write is stored in a database we run, and we cannot read it.

• Sync through Google Drive and you can keep using Footprint Diary on your computer as well.

• Export everything to a file whenever you feel like it.

• Turn on the screen lock to keep someone from opening the app without thinking.

MAKE IT YOURS

• Use light or dark, or let it follow your phone.

• Move or hide any panel you do not use.

• Choose the day your week starts on.

• If you prefer a calmer screen, turn off the confetti that falls when you finish a plan.

Footprint Diary works in a desktop browser too. Open the same address on your computer, use Google Drive backup, and your devices stay in step with each other.

Write as the days pass, look at the small footprints they leave behind, and meet the person you have been, slowly.
