Smith Transportation Equipment and Smith Griffin Armor are sister companies separated by a few miles under the same ownership.

Each company manufactures specialized trucking equipment, across multiple industries, with thousands of components across hundreds of units. We have recently implemented a new database enabling us to catalog every equipment detail upon leaving our factories.

This database will document each truck model, chassis information, customer specifications, individual components, photos and more. The benefits it provides each company are multifaceted. 1) If supply chain disruptions force the utilization of substitute parts, we'll be able to track exactly which units received the substitute parts which will be invaluable information for future parts orders/technical support. 2) The database allows us to cross-check our equipment against customer specifications to ensure we're meeting their requirements. We expect many additional benefits that are currently undiscovered as we continue to utilize.

The back-end of the database will host all quality control documentation for posterity as a measure to guarantee all equipment meets our highest quality control standards. The database is simply revolutionary for small business equipment manufacturers.

Since the database contains trade secrets, it's internal use only. Login credentials were created for select employees to limit accessibility. The product information is currently uploaded by these employees through webpages on IOS devices. The upload process through webpages is very meticulous absorbing vital manpower from essential employees. This application will streamline the entire process and create a much better user viewing experience through employee issued IOS devices.
