Review summary
Pros
- Supports multiple Fediverse accounts and instances with easy switching.
- Feature-rich and customizable interface with options like scheduling, color coding, LaTeX rendering, dark mode, and hashtag following.
- User-friendly and intuitive experience even for novices, with robust support and continuous improvements.
- Unique features like treating lists as timelines and providing more full Mastodon feature coverage than other apps.
- Works better than many free clients with reliable "pick up where you left off" functionality.
Cons
- Notifications can be buggy, often failing to update, and some users experience issues getting them to work at all.
- App refresh and timeline loading can be slow or incomplete, requiring manual refresh on some tabs.
- UI has a learning curve and can feel cluttered; some design elements feel dated or unintuitive, with requests for better compactness and clearer buttons.
- Media previews inconsistent (e.g., timelines not showing YouTube previews) and image loading issues like images not scaling properly or causing timeline reformatting.
- Missing certain quality-of-life features compared to web apps, such as filtering local feed replies/boosts and consolidated account feeds.

| 2025-01-17 | I've been trying this app for a week or two with 3 different Fedi accounts (2 Masto,1 Pixelfed). Basically it's fantastic. It's a beautiful customisable interface, multi acct interoperable and also offers translation inline. The settings can be a bit overwhelming at first but once you get familiar it's very good. I haven't quite got notifications to work yet but I'm sure I'll figure it out. Now please add Lemmy.world, then I'll be super happy! | ||

| 2024-11-03 | Great new update guys. Not sure when that happened. I've been having an issue with sending reactions through on fedilab. If I press "😆" and there's already 1+ "😆," for example, then it simply highlights the bubble. If I use the drop-down menu to select it, it will remove the bubble that shows (😆 1) leaving nothing there. EDIT: 11/03/24 Still a problem. Thanks for nothing. Going back to Husky. | ||

| 2024-04-26 | The learning curve, not for this app but for fediverse, can be a bit steep. Personally I have not had the time to really learn and test as much as I would have liked. But this app is making the pathways to understanding and using a bit more clarified, at least to me. And there is support from those eager to help others understand the tools available. | ||

| 2024-04-19 | Lots of features! I particularly like the LaTeX rendering which very few Android Mastodon clients have. I only have two complaints: a minor one is that when rendering LaTeX the "remove left margin" setting is not honored; a more annoying one is that the notification counter is buggy and very often fails to go down to zero even after reading all notifications and refreshing them. | ||

| 2023-07-31 | It's definitely gotten better since I started using it, but I have since moved from using Mastodon as my main Fediverse platform to Firefish, and the web app for the main instance is so smooth and pretty. The Fedilab UI just isn't quite there for me, but it is my main backup app because of the features. For example, Firefish's implementation of following hashtags (Antennas) is wonky. I'd rather have them in my home feed like Fedilab does. So I go back and forth depending on use case. | ||

| 2023-04-28 | Overall it does function for navigating mastodon instances. However there are some missing QOL features that are available on the web app, to the point where I prefer using my browser over this. For some reason on a browser you can indicate that you don't want to see replies or boosts in your local feed, but there's no option for that in Fedilab. Similarly I've noticed several times where I will be reading a chain of replies and posts will be repeated/duplicated. Same with if I'm browsing tags | ||

| 2023-01-27 | Best Android Mastodon App! I have multiple accounts over multiple instances and I can confidently say this app has been amazing at letting me easily switch between them and manage my content. It is also feature rich with scheduling, color coding, etc. If there were widgets, or even better a consolidated timeline widget I could put on my phone for quick scrolling, this app would be perfection! It is worth the money. Support the dev and join the Fediverse! | ||

| 2023-01-11 | Edit: Just to reply to the dev (thank you for your response), I mean that I'd prefer slightly MORE compact posts. Not by much, though. Maybe a few pixels or so. But thank you! So far, it's a lovely app. The ability to fine tune the UI is invaluable, and the functional settings are very robust and customizable. I think the only thing I'd want for the near future is slightly slimmer spacing between posts. Otherwise, very big fan already. | ||

| 2023-01-01 | After trying the other Android options, this is hands down the best. Editing posts, image loading, update profile, altext, dark mode, filters, CW, # following, # searching, mute, block. Haven't noticed any bugs or glitches. I've been using it since October, and being ND, the fact that everything works, simple clean design, and is not visually loud, perfect. I really like that after an update, the history of updates is included. Android S21 Ultra using Nova Launcher. | ||

| 2022-12-25 | Being new to the fediverse since Nov and after trying a few apps, Fedilab is hands down the best experience by far. On the expert spectrum of coding/developing, I qualify as novice; however, this app offers complete and robust features across the board. Very intuitive and user friendly. Well worth the small price tag to support future development and maintenance. Get This App! | ||
