Card Tactix

Card Tactix is a reference and a trainer for fifteen traditional card games. The
rules, the deal diagrams, the scoring calculators, the situations and the
questions are all inside the app. No ads, no network, no account, and nothing
to buy: every part of the app is open from the first launch.

FIFTEEN GAMES, FIFTEEN SETS OF RULES
Hearts, Spades, Oh Hell, Euchre, Whist, Durak, Gin Rummy, Rummy 500, Canasta,
Cribbage, Pitch, Crazy Eights, Golf, President and Casino. Only traditional
games whose rules are common property. Every rules card has six sections -
Players & Deck, Deal, Bidding, Play, Scoring and Common Variants - and three to
six diagrams of the deal drawn with real cards.

FIFTEEN CALCULATORS, NOT ONE WITH SWITCHES
Each game is counted by its own calculator, written against its own rules, down
to its own exception. Shooting the moon both ways in Hearts. The bag penalty in
Spades, where ten bags leave the count and the eleventh survives. The forbidden
bid total in Oh Hell. Four points for a loner only on all five tricks in
Euchre. No minus below the book of six in Whist. The undercut on equal deadwood
in Gin Rummy. The ace worth one at the bottom of a run in Rummy 500. Red threes
going negative without a canasta. The crib flush that needs all five cards. The
jack point that may never have been dealt in Pitch. The eight worth fifty in
Crazy Eights. The column pair that cancels in Golf. The strict majority in
Casino. And places with no points at all in Durak and President.

HOW IT ADDS UP
Every total is broken into the parts it is made of, line by line, so you can see
where a number came from instead of trusting it. Impossible deals are named, not
silently counted.

A SCORE SHEET BY ROUND
Two to eight players, names typed in, rounds added from the calculator or by
hand, Undo Round and Finish. The winner is settled by the direction that game
scores in: lowest in Hearts, Crazy Eights and Golf, highest in the others, and
by place in the two games that have no points. Keep as many score sheets as you
like and export any of them to a plain text file.

300 QUESTIONS AND 120 SITUATIONS
Twenty questions and eight situations per game, in three shapes: one right
answer, several right answers, and type the number. Every scoring question is a
deal, and the correct answer is worked out by that game's own calculator, so
the quiz and the calculator cannot disagree. Every answer names the section of
the rules it came from, and Why? opens that section in full.

EVERY MISTAKE COMES BACK
A question you get wrong returns after one day, then three, seven, sixteen and
thirty-five. Answer it right first time and the gap grows a step; get it wrong
again and it goes back to one day. Two clean answers at the last two steps
retire it. Review Today collects what is due, oldest first, 12, 20 or 25
questions a day as you choose.

WHAT YOU ARE COUNTED ON
Accuracy by game and by question type, the games you have learned, situations
passed, day streak, a 90 day activity calendar, your most frequent mistakes
broken down by section of the rules, and a plain text export of all of it.

NOTHING IS FOR SALE
There is no store in this app, no price anywhere in it and no payment code in
it. All 15 games, all 300 questions, all 120 situations, the full answer
breakdown, score sheets with no limit, the review queue at the size you choose
and the progress export are open from the first launch. There is no in-game
currency either: nothing to collect, nothing to spend, nothing to win and
nothing to risk.

IT DOES NOT PLAY FOR YOU
The app shows rules, counts a deal you have already played at a real table and
asks questions about the rules. It does not deal or play cards for you, and it
models no play for money.

OFFLINE AND PRIVATE
The app has no network code at all. Nothing is collected, nothing is sent
anywhere, no advertising identifier is read, and it asks for no permissions: no
camera, no microphone, no location, no contacts, no notifications.
