Another Page: Read to Unlock

Block the apps that eat your time. Read a few pages of a classic to open them.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Another Page puts a few pages of a good classic book between you and your most distracting apps. It's an app for people who want to read more and scroll less.

Open Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or Reddit and a reading screen appears instead. Read a few pages from a classic of your choice, and the app opens for a timed window. That's the whole idea: every time you reach for a distracting app, you have to read a little first.

Most app blockers just add friction. Another Page also helps you swap the doomscrolling habit for a reading one, and cut your screen time a few pages at a time.

How it works
1. Pick the apps you want to block, one at a time, or a whole category (social, video, or games) in a tap.
2. When you open one, a reading session starts, right where you left off.
3. Hit your goal, in pages or minutes, and your app unlocks for as long as you set.

You set the rules. How many pages or minutes, how long the unlock lasts, which apps get blocked. The app just holds you to it. Reading is never cut off mid-page; keep going past the goal if you like. Need a break? Pause blocking when you need to.

More than 4,000 books, in 12 languages, for free
A curated library of classics ships with the app, with no subscription to read them. English has around 1,500, including Frankenstein, Pride and Prejudice and Moby Dick. Another 2,631 are in Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Filipino. The books come from public-domain sources that produce careful editions: Standard Ebooks, Project Gutenberg, Wikisource, Projecto Adamastor and the Biblioteca Nacional de España.

Another Page also works as a standalone ebook reader, no blocking required, and standalone reading still counts toward your daily goal and streak.

A reader built for reading
Light, sepia, and dark themes, with a choice of fonts. Highlight passages, bookmark your place, search the full text, and jump by chapter, then jump straight back after following a footnote. Tap once for a clean, full-screen view, or turn pages with the volume keys. Books download for offline reading, so you can read anywhere, even with no signal. Double-tap a word for its definition; dictionaries for eight more languages download on demand.

Built to be accessible
Another Page works well with screen readers like TalkBack: labeled controls, on-screen page turn buttons that announce each page as you turn, an OpenDyslexic font, and adjustable text size and spacing.

Nothing ever leaves your device
No account, no analytics, no tracking. Your blocked apps, reading progress, and streaks stay on your phone, and we can't see any of it. There's no sign-up, and nothing to log in to.

Keep the streak going
A daily reading goal, day streaks, and simple stats show how your pages add up over time, and how often you chose a book instead. A home-screen widget keeps your progress in view, and you can share a milestone when you finish a book or reach a new streak.

Free, with an optional upgrade
The core app is free: block up to three apps, read any book in the library, in any of its 12 languages, and set your own goals. The core experience will always remain free, with no ads, now or at any point in the future.

Premium adds:
• Unlimited blocked apps
• App groups, each with its own rules
• Your own books
• A stricter mode for the days you need it
• Do Not Disturb while you read
• Scheduling across multiple time windows
• Streak freezes
• Deeper reading insights

A note on permissions
To notice when a blocked app opens, Another Page uses Usage Access and permission to draw over other apps. On some phones you may also need to let it keep running in the background, so blocking doesn't get shut off to save battery. You turn these on yourself. They're used only to show the reading screen for the apps you chose, and nothing is ever sent anywhere. Another Page never uses an Accessibility Service and never reads your screen.
