ALTER: Speak your mind

A small win. A big feeling. A thought you want to put into words. ALTER is a social app for sharing what's on your mind and connecting through everyday conversations.

Make room for your voice
Post a thought, vent about your day, or share a moment worth keeping. Add a GIF, reply to someone, and bookmark the posts you want to come back to.

Find your people
Explore communities around shared interests. Search for people by username, follow their profiles, and keep up with their posts. Profiles bring your posts, followers, and following together in one place.

Follow the conversation
Discover trending posts and hashtags, or explore a topic that catches your attention. Nearby lets you choose a broad region to see its conversations, without requesting GPS access.

Keep talking
Continue a thread with replies or send a conversation request. Messages begin after the other person accepts. Reporting and blocking controls are available in the app.

Settle into your space
Choose a light look or a pitch-black AMOLED dark mode. Sign in with Google to access your ALTER account on another device. Posting, replies, messages, following, ordinary feeds, communities, and basic bookmarks do not require a subscription.

Make it personal with ALTER Plus
ALTER Plus is an optional paid subscription with more ways to personalize and organize your account:
- A public Plus membership badge, separate from account verification
- Profile themes and avatar packs
- Username and post-text colors
- Private profiles with approval for new followers
- Private bookmark collections
- Saved custom feeds
- Cloud drafts for continuing across devices

With a private profile, posts and connection lists are for you and approved followers. Your name, avatar, bio, and basic profile information remain public. Existing followers keep access when you switch to private, and you can remove followers. Your profile stays private if Plus ends.

Plans and prices appear in the app. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through Google Play.

ALTER is for people aged 13 and older. Community rules apply.
