Air2G2

The Air2G² application is a tool allowing users to be informed daily about the air quality in Greater Geneva. The information is available in the form of maps or data from nearby measurement stations. Thanks to a system of "France-Switzerland switch" the user can choose, according to its geolocation or its preference, the daily index of air quality that appears on its screen (Swiss or French scale) . Air2G², it is also good daily recommended actions according to the majority pollutants measured. These good gestures become recommendations during periods of vigilance, that is to say when the thresholds are exceeded. In the event of pollution peaks, compulsory measures (differentiated traffic, etc.) are also indicated on the application.

ATMO Auvergne Rhône Alpes, the observatory approved by the Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition, for monitoring and information on air quality in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, is responsible for modeling the source data for the Air2G² application , in partnership with the air services of the Canton of Geneva and the Canton of Vaud. The air quality indexes published in the Air2G² application are based on a daily estimate of the global pollution level (from very good to very bad) at any point in the Franco-Valdègian agglomeration.

These are multi-pollutant indices: 3 pollutants are taken into account in the calculation: NO2 nitrogen dioxide, PM10 fine particles and O3 ozone. The overall index takes the value of the highest sub-index of the three.

The index is calculated on a scale of 10 meters for large agglomerations and on a kilometer scale for the rest of the region.

All indices are calculated and mapped for the day before, the same day and the next day.

Air2G2
