Many a times when I look up the internet to gather information on a particular topic or a subject , I would save all the sites I thought were either interesting or at least contain some nice bits , as I like to make a place for my sources. I am going have to admit and say that I am a Web hoarder , with around 12k bookmarks from the past 6 or so years when I became an avid reader of sites like Quora , Reddit , Stack exchange etc. As such , a good way of displaying Bookmarks and organizing them beyond folder hierarchies is indeed very useful.
Out of the many applications out there this one definitely has nice look that save the squinting and having to unnecessarily open tabs . Another great selling point of it is it's locally based ,and based on the browser only , which makes it acts as some kind of a portal or viewport to your Bookmarks , another huge plus . I also liked the little links counters.
Sadly , because of the enormous number of my bookmarks , the app seems to be a quite slow in loading , and sometimes doesn't load at all. As soon as I type something in the search , it freezes. But otherwise , navigating through the folders is just around a second slower compared to the default Chrome Bookmark Manager. I don't know if that's because I am on a Windows 11 Laptop or something else like the programming. I would have kept it had it was able to handle the number of my Bookmarks.
Overall , after trying it out for a few days : if somebody has a regular number of bookmarks , but wants something close to the aesthetics and UI of managers like Raindrop.io while being solely a local-based solution: I highly , strongly recommend this app.
The new bookmark search feature in Chrome makes this extension obsolete, but what could save this extension if Oliver takes a step further and makes it a tap manager as well, with the same approach (almost like Tab Manager Plus).
other features are the ability to visit websites in a floating window that could be moved and resized (also the thumbnails -that they don't load often, it's better if they can be animated big icons) stay on top option, and dark mode..
I will keep it but I hope to see it grow better :)
Hi, this doesn't work in other chrome based browsers - specifically Vivaldi, Could you fix it?
