It's a really great idea. Too bad it only works 5% of the times and when it does it's not much help, as it doesn't keep the original content of the textarea when converting it.
Also it lacks the ability to give you the full power of Ace by including the Ace Settings Menu Extension to allow the user to configure the editor settings (which unfortunatelly makes it just a textarea with line numbers).
