Tifluna: Mother & Baby Care

Tifluna helps mothers, fathers, and community health workers recognise life-threatening danger signs during pregnancy, the newborn period, and postnatal recovery. It works fully offline and does not collect data.

WHO IT IS FOR

- Mothers and fathers caring for a pregnant woman, a newborn, or themselves after giving birth.
- Community health workers (CHW) visiting families with babies under 28 days old.
- Anyone who wants to learn the danger signs that matter most in the first 1,000 days.

KEY FEATURES

- Danger-sign checker for pregnancy, newborn (0 to 28 days), and postnatal mother (0 to 42 days). Picture-first tiles, audio button on every screen.
- Conservative triage shown in green, amber, or red. When in doubt, the app routes you to a health worker.
- Breath counter for newborns. Tap once per breath for 60 seconds; flags 60 or more per minute as urgent.
- Body temperature input for newborn and maternal fever checks.
- Mental-health 4-question check for the first 42 days after birth. Warm, non-judgemental.
- Weekly pregnancy guidance plus antenatal-visit reminders at the WHO-recommended weeks.
- Postnatal visit reminders for the WHO PNC contact schedule.
- Vaccination tracker built from the baby's date of birth, with country variants for BD, IN, PK, NG, ID, EG.
- Emergency routing: clear "what to do on the way" guidance, an offline directory of public health centres, an emergency-number dialer, and a map app fallback.
- Profiles and records: add pregnancies, babies, and recovery profiles. Every check-in is logged with date and result. Share a text summary with your health worker.
- Community-health-worker mode: roster, IMCI-style assessments, and CSV reports.
- App lock with two independent methods: biometric (fingerprint or face) and a dedicated 4-digit app PIN. Neither method uses your phone PIN.

PRIVACY & SECURITY

- No accounts. No cloud sync. Your data stays on your device.
- The base app uses internet only for "Send Feedback" (relayed through Web3Forms) or "Open map" on an emergency screen.
- No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no crash reporters that phone home.
- Your location is used only when you tap "Find nearest facility" and is held in memory only.
- The app PIN is stored as a salted SHA-256 hash. The plain PIN is never stored. It is separate from your phone PIN.
- Cloud backup is disabled so records and PIN material are not synced to Google Drive.

LANGUAGES

Available in 32 languages, with right-to-left layout for Arabic, Urdu, Pashto, and Persian. Includes Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, French, Swahili, Hausa, Amharic, and many more.

WHAT TIFLUNA IS NOT

Tifluna is an educational and triage-support tool. It does not diagnose. It does not replace a doctor, midwife, or community health worker. Every triage screen carries the reminder: this is not a doctor; if you are worried, go to a health worker.

Triage rules and thresholds come from WHO IMCI 2014 (sick young infant), WHO Essential Newborn Care 2022, WHO ANC 2016, WHO PNC 2022, and Cochrane reviews. Numeric thresholds match the WHO source documents.
