UNDERSTAND EVERY CELL
TactiGlyph treats Braille as a system to understand, not just an output font. Each result can expose its active dots, source character, indicator role, and the rule used to produce it. Capital and number indicators remain visible, and supported contractions are identified where they occur. This makes the workspace useful for checking homework, preparing teaching material, or exploring unfamiliar notation.
TYPE WITH SIX DOTS
The composer mirrors the physical logic of a six-key Braille writer. Raise a dot combination, commit the cell, then edit the sequence with clear controls. A live raised-cell preview, dot-number labels, spoken feedback, and optional vibration help users connect finger positions with the resulting pattern. Standard text entry remains available when that is the easier starting point.
REVIEW EMBOSSED PAGES
Use the optional camera or choose an existing image. The recognition engine runs locally, estimates dot groups and cell geometry, and presents an annotated review surface. Confidence cues identify cells that deserve attention. Nothing is silently accepted: users can inspect the source image, correct individual patterns, and choose what to save or export.
PRACTICE THAT RESPONDS
Reading and writing exercises cover letters, numbers, punctuation, indicators, and the supported rule set. The scheduler uses recent accuracy and response history to revisit weaker patterns while spacing stronger ones. Results stay understandable through per-cell feedback rather than a single score.
PRIVACY AND ACCESS
The app has no account system, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or cloud service. Saved notes, practice history, and reviewed recognition text remain in local app storage until you delete them or remove the app. Source images are processed locally: camera captures use temporary app-cache files, while imported images remain with their document provider. Camera access is optional and requested only when you choose to photograph Braille. Existing images can be selected through Android's system document picker without broad storage access.
Braille conventions vary by language and context. TactiGlyph identifies its supported rule scope and keeps optical results reviewable. It is not a substitute for certified transcription.
