Atrekes: Used Phone Check

Buying or accepting a second-hand Android phone should not depend only on what its Settings screen says. Atrekes guides you through a practical check on the phone in your hand, then explains what it measured, what conflicts, and what it could not measure.

The guided audit covers seven areas:

• Storage: writes temporary test data inside the app's own space, reads it back, and removes it after the check
• Battery: estimates capacity during a timed measurement and shows the possible range
• Device details: compares processor, memory, display, and exposed camera information with a dated model reference
• Screen and touch: shows six full-screen colors and checks 96 touch areas
• Sensors: observes whether available sensors respond normally during the test
• Device state: reviews software and startup signs that can affect the measurements
• Optional identity check: lets you type the phone's identity number and compare its model prefix on the device

Atrekes keeps the phone's claims separate from its measurements. The final report ranks important conflicts, explains each result in plain language, and states the limits of every check. If a model reference is unavailable, the report says so instead of guessing.

To share a completed report with someone nearby, show it as a sequence of QR codes. The receiving phone checks that the report has not changed before displaying the same measurements.

Atrekes provides a measurement report. It does not certify a device, identify a seller, estimate a price, or recommend whether to complete a purchase. Results depend on what Android allows an ordinary app to observe, and modified software can affect some evidence.
