Your old phone still has a camera and a speaker. That is everything it needs to watch a room for fire and smoke while you are somewhere else.

Mount a spare Android phone in the garage, workshop, boiler room or hallway, plug it in, and Smoke & Fire Detector turns it into a camera-based early-warning watchdog. When it sees flames or smoke it sounds a loud siren on the spot and sends a full-screen alarm to your own phone, with photos and a short video of what it saw.

IMPORTANT - NOT A CERTIFIED SMOKE DETECTOR
This app is a supplementary monitoring tool. It is not a certified smoke detector, fire alarm or life-safety device, and it must never replace the certified detectors required by law or building codes. A camera only sees what is in front of it, in adequate light, while the phone has power. Fires can start out of view, in the dark, or with little visible smoke. Always keep certified detectors installed.

HOW IT WORKS
One app, two roles, chosen at first launch.
- Detector - the spare phone. Mounted, plugged in, watching.
- Monitor - your everyday phone. It receives the alarms.
Pair them once with a six-character code. That is the whole setup.

ON-DEVICE AI
A neural network trained on thousands of real fire and smoke images runs on the detector phone itself. Frames are analysed on the phone; nothing is streamed anywhere. Detection keeps working with the internet unplugged - only the remote alert needs a network.

A REAL ALARM, NOT A NOTIFICATION
On the detector: full-volume siren, flashlight strobe, and a full-screen alert. On your phone: a full-screen alarm over the lock screen with the room name and a photo of what triggered it, plus buttons to acknowledge, mark it a false alarm, or dial emergency services. Both go quiet by themselves once the fire is out of view.

EVIDENCE YOU CAN CHECK
Every event stores photos from before, during and after the moment of detection, plus a short video clip. Open any event from your phone and see exactly what happened and when. You can also ask a detector for a snapshot at any time.

BUILT FOR FALSE-ALARM RESISTANCE
Cooking steam, sunsets, TV screens, heaters and reflections fool naive detectors. This one requires evidence over several seconds before it will confirm, suppresses boxes that never move (a TV showing a fire is not a fire), ignores sudden lighting changes, and lets you draw exclusion zones over windows, screens and stove tops. Three sensitivity presets: Sensitive, Balanced and Kitchen.

MADE FOR OLD PHONES
Runs on Android 7.0 and up. Handles heat and battery gracefully, degrades its frame rate instead of dying, restarts itself after a reboot or power cut, and reports its own battery, temperature and camera health to your monitoring phone so you know it is still alive.

PRIVACY
No ads. No trackers. No third-party analytics. No audio recording - ever. No location. Camera frames stay on the detector phone; photos and clips leave it only when an event fires or you request a snapshot. Evidence is deleted from our servers after 30 days, and you can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app.
