Number Duel

Number Duel is the classic higher-or-lower guessing game turned into a head-to-head race.

You both hide a secret number. Then you both start hunting - at the same time, with no turns to wait for. Every guess comes back as one of three words: HIGHER, LOWER, or CORRECT. The first player to crack the opponent's number wins. Most duels are over in under a minute.

QUICK DUEL
Get matched with a random opponent in seconds. Wins move your rating, and the leaderboard tracks the fewest guesses anyone has ever needed.

PRIVATE ROOM
Create a six-character code and read it out to a friend. They type it in and you're duelling. No accounts, no friend requests, no waiting.

SOLO VS BOT
Four bot skill levels, from a forgetful guesser to a flawless halving machine that never wastes a guess. You take turns - one guess each - so the scores are directly comparable. Works with no internet at all.

FOUR RANGE MODES
Easy - 1 to 100, a twenty-second sprint
Normal - 1 to 1,000, the classic duel
Hard - 1 to 10,000, one slip and you lose
Extreme - 1 to 100,000, pure nerve and arithmetic

A bigger range is not really harder - it just costs a few more guesses. Halving the range every time finds any number from 1 to 100,000 within 17 tries. The app shows you exactly what's still possible and what the halving guess would be, so the real contest is who keeps their nerve and moves faster.

SPOKEN DUEL
Let your phone read the opponent's guesses aloud as they arrive, so you can keep your eyes on your own keypad instead of looking up. Optional, off by default, and it uses your phone's own voice.

NOBODY CAN CHEAT
On paper, the obvious cheat is to change your number once the other player gets close. That is impossible here. Your secret is sent once and written down by our server, and no message exists that can change it afterwards. Your opponent's phone is only ever told higher, lower or correct. Both numbers are revealed to both players at the same moment, when the duel ends.
