PRIVACY BY DESIGN
Your notifications stay on your phone. The text of every message, email, and reminder — and any feedback you give Sift — is processed entirely on-device and never sent anywhere. Sift collects anonymous, content-free usage counts to help us improve the app; you can turn this off in Settings and delete your data at any time. We built Sift because we didn't trust any cloud-based "AI inbox" with our notifications, and you shouldn't either.

A: No. Every notification — the text, the sender, the contents — is classified and summarized entirely on your device. Sift never sends notification content to a server.

A: Yes — anonymous, content-free usage counts that help us understand how the app is used. We record things like "a chat message was sent" or "classification took under 3 seconds"; we never record what the message said or what the notification contained. You can turn it off in Settings → Privacy & data and delete your data at any time.

Q: What AI model does it use?
A: A small open-source language model optimized for mobile, running entirely on-device. GPU-accelerated with CPU fallback.

Q: How far back can I scroll?
A: Up to 30 days. Older notifications are automatically removed from the on-device database.

Q: Will it drain my battery?
