Features & Capabilities

AI Image Detector is a browser extension that analyzes images as you browse to determine whether they are AI-generated. You can enable automatic on-page analysis or run manual checks via the right-click menu. Results show the model's confidence and, when available, aggregated community reports. Users can report images as real or AI-generated; once an image accumulates enough reports, the community consensus is shown instead of running a fresh analysis.

The detector uses a Swin v2–based classifier trained on over 450k images and validated on a separate test set, achieving >97% accuracy in testing. Key features include per-site and global auto-analysis toggles, controls for uploading reported images to training data (including separate toggles for private images), indicator positioning, and explicit opt-out privacy options. The project is fully open source, provides access to its training dataset with responsible-use restrictions, and welcomes contributions and feedback via GitHub.

Doesn't seem to work

Worked well until today, 22 September. It requires me to sign in but then sates: "Verification email failed to send, please try again". I have retried with other email addresses, several times. I tried logging out of a working extension in another browser and am now locked out.
