What is stopRU?
stopRU is a Chrome extension that aims to reduce the amount of Russian content recommended by YouTube. It works by analyzing video titles and channel names for the presence of Russian characters. If these are found but no Ukrainian or Belarusian characters are present, it performs actions such as clicking 'Not Interested' or highlighting the video. The extension works on multiple pages including the homepage, search page, recommended videos page, etc. The more it is used, the less Russian content will appear. It requires users to be logged into YouTube to function. Updates continually aim to improve functionality and address bugs.
