Features & Capabilities

Activity Metrics for GitLab is a browser extension for Chrome, Edge, and Chromium-based browsers that helps developers, tech leads, engineering managers, and software teams quickly understand activity in the GitLab instance open in the current tab.

The extension shows commits, created merge requests, merged merge requests, open issues, closed issues, active projects, recent events, previous-period comparisons, and an activity heatmap. It creates a clear dashboard for reviewing developer productivity, individual contribution, recent development history, and project activity across GitLab repositories.

No access token, API key, backend, or external server is required. Activity Metrics for GitLab uses your existing authenticated GitLab browser session and requests data directly from the GitLab instance you already have open. Collected data stays in your browser, and report data is stored only for the current browser session.

Key features:

  • GitLab activity metrics dashboard
  • Commit count by selected period
  • Created and merged merge requests
  • Open and closed issues
  • Most active projects
  • Previous-period comparison
  • Activity heatmap
  • Visual report export as WebP
  • Print or save report as PDF
  • Works with GitLab.com and HTTPS self-managed GitLab instances
  • No token, no backend, no complex setup

Useful for tracking GitLab productivity, generating activity reports, reviewing recent contributions, analyzing commits and merge requests, and getting a fast overview of development activity in GitLab projects.
