Features & Capabilities

Bring the emotes you love to chats, comments, and conversations across the web. 7TV Anywhere recognizes emote names in supported webpages, displays their familiar images alongside the text, and helps you find emotes while typing with quick autocomplete and an in-page picker.

7TV Anywhere is an independent, unofficial extension and is not affiliated with or endorsed by 7TV.
  • Render 7TV emotes in supported webpage text
  • Type (:emote) to search in compatible chats, comments, and text fields
  • Open a searchable in-page picker with favorites, frequently used emotes, and channel categories
  • Choose a compact sidebar or horizontal-tab picker layout
  • Add emotes from Twitch channels or individual 7TV emote sets
  • Follow a channel's current main emote set automatically
  • Browse configured channels, sets, and loaded emotes
  • Preview disabled emote sets before enabling them
  • Disable an emote globally or only for a specific channel
  • Match emote names with or without case sensitivity
  • Enable or disable individual websites without recording sites you merely visit
  • Keep access off by default, grant individual websites, or optionally enable all websites
  • Choose a global performance mode or override it per website
  • Adjust emote size and set priority
  • Stack 7TV zero-width emotes over a base emote
  • Customize emote hover cards, native titles, and hover delay
  • Import and export your settings
  • Toggle the extension with a keyboard shortcut
  • See loading, saving, and update activity through the popup and extension badge
First-run onboarding demonstrates the difference website access makes, then asks for an explicit all-websites or per-site choice. Progress resumes after the popup closes, and permission requests can move to a normal browser tab so the browser prompt stays visible. Onboarding can be run again from Settings. The in-page picker button can be dragged, remembers only positions the user explicitly sets for each website, and virtualizes large emote grids. The popup is designed for both desktop browsers and Firefox for Android. Hidden tabs pause emote processing and release their lookup data until they become visible again, reducing background resource use.

Webpage and text-field content is processed locally. 7TV Anywhere does not contain analytics or advertising and does not upload raw webpage text or messages.

7TV Anywhere was heavily inspired by SwarmTube, which brought a similar idea to YouTube comments. This project expands the experience to supported sites across the web.

The default vedal987 channel is a little nod to where the idea started.
