NameSpotter is a Chrome extension that makes scientific names actionable. With a click of the icon, scientific names on a page are highlighted and accompanied by tooltips from the Encyclopedia of Life. It also provides a form to copy scientific names into your clipboard. Shortcut key: Ctrl+Shift+S (Windows) or Command+Shift+S (Mac)

Click the NameSpotter icon and scientific names are highlighted on the page with tooltips from the Encyclopedia of Life. A form is also produced where you can copy scientific names into your clipboard. If the current page is a publicly-accessible PDF, clicking the icon is limited to producing the form.
