It was working as of this date, but note that I had to go into chrome://extensions/shortcuts to set a shortcut as ctrl+shift+s was not set by default as indicated

Does not work anymore, sorry. But you can use Ctrl+Tab and hold it while looking away to open another tab. I also use it for music class, lol!
