I just needed to force chrome to use a proxy server without setting the PC system (OS) proxy. I was able to put my own Proxy server in - enable and go. Did not notice how to switch from manual proxy to direct - So I just turned the extension on/off as needed. | |

This is one of the most useful extensions I've ever used. You can open any SSH connection to any service you have (AWS, GCP, etc) and make it work as a Proxy, then use this extension to pass your Chrome session thru it with this command: ssh -ND 1080 <user@host> -p <remote_port> | |
