So, OpenAI just changed the URL from 'chat.openai.com' to 'chatgpt.com', and this is why the extension is no longer running. Since you cannot change the site access in chrome://extensions, you'll need to download the extension and then change two lines of code in the so-called "manifest.json". In your browser, left click the extension icon and in the pop-up window, click the first icon (out of three icons centered at the bottom). This will take you to the github where you need to download "extension.zip" (see if you can find it lol - it's kinda hard to describe tbh). Extract the folder, and open the folder in an IDE (e.g. "Visual Studio Code" (download that too)). Find the "manifest.json" and change the URL in line 28 and 33 (where it says "matches") so that it contains this within the brackets ["*://chatgpt.com/*"]. Save it, close the IDE, go to chrome://extensions and enable Developer Mode at the top right, and then click on "Load unpacked" at the top left, and finally select the folder that you downloaded and edited. It should work right away. Try refreshing the chatgpt tab and test it. It works for me. This might be hilarious to programmers out there, but I'm proud of figuring this one out lmfao (I'm a noob). Godlike extension btw. | |
